PTSD SERVICE DOGS

False Allegations Canada (FAC) is a non-profit organization that supports individuals who have been falsely accused of crimes. One of their key services includes providing PTSD service dogs to screened applicants who are dealing with the psychological impact of false allegations, which can lead to trauma, anxiety, and PTSD.

FAC works with carefully vetted applicants to match them with service dogs trained to assist in the management of symptoms associated with PTSD. The service dogs are trained to help individuals with emotional regulation, providing a calming presence during anxiety or panic attacks, and offering companionship to reduce feelings of isolation. These dogs are also taught to detect signs of stress and assist their handlers in grounding themselves during episodes of emotional distress.

The application process includes thorough screening to ensure that the applicants are suitable candidates for a PTSD service dog, ensuring the dogs can make a significant positive impact on the lives of those affected by false accusations. 

        Many of the clients FAC serves are financially burdened and cannot afford to buy or train these service dogs on their own. FAC relies on donations to cover the significant costs involved in training, feeding, and caring for these dogs.
